Supply chain finance for South African suppliers.
Rand-denominated early payment against your receivables, priced off ZARONIA and settled domestically.
Why this market
South African suppliers are underserved by bank supply chain finance programmes, which onboard only a buyer's largest twenty or thirty counterparties. Zenia is built for the long tail beneath that line. Underwriting draws on accounting and verification data rather than requiring the buyer to run a programme, so a supplier can raise finance without waiting for their customer to adopt anything.

South Africa anchors the Common Monetary Area
The rand is the anchor currency of the Common Monetary Area, which also covers Namibia, Lesotho and Eswatini. For a rand-area financier this matters commercially: exposure across all four economies can be funded and settled in rand, with no cross-border currency leg. It is the reason Zenia's Namibian market runs on rand-linked pricing.
Regulation and legal basis
What governs supply chain finance in South Africa, and what makes an assignment of receivables enforceable there.
- South African Reserve Bank (SARB)
- Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA)
- Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC)
- National Credit Regulator (NCR)
- Information Regulator (POPIA)
Receivables are transferred by out-and-out cession. No public filing register exists; notice to the debtor perfects the cession against set-off arising after notice.
